West End & Eighty Seven
West End & Eighty Seven, located at 269 West 87th Street, is a new high rise located on the Upper West Side. With its pre-war, Art Deco-inspired design, the residential building is a seamless fit with the existing architecture of the neighborhood.
The building's curated list of amenities include two levels of indoor and outdoor recreational and leisure spaces, including a sunken garden, a library, a fitness center, and a multipurpose sports court that can be used as either an active gymnasium or a theater.
In addition, the building's façade consists of architectural precast wall panels at its front, hand-set masonry, punch windows, and Juliette balconies.
The existing conditions at the site presented design and construction challenges that required close coordination between all parties, specifically our team, the owner, the design team, and various agencies. This ensured the proper excavation and disposal of contaminated site material.
To solve for this, LBG took a proactive approach to engaging appropriate parties, bringing them on board and keeping them up-to-speed at the outset of the building's construction process.
