Steven Socol and Mario Carone along with other members of the current LBG team were responsible for the construction and management of this complex is part of the Riverside South Development (Site ‘O’) and includes tow residential towers constructed over the Amtrak train tracks on the West End Avenue and 61st Street.
The eastern Building is a 14-story, 85,000 square foot reinforced concrete building with 120 studio apartments and 3,000 square feet of retail space on the ground floor. This building was completed with T.C.O. within 18 months.
The western building is a 25-story, 200,000 square foot reinforced concrete building with 211 apartments and 6,000 square feet of retail space on ground floor.
In conjunction with the two-buildings, the project includes the extension of 61st Street past West End Avenue to meet the future “Freedom Place Street” being built as part of the overall development. This street (or bridge) as we call it spans over the Amtrak train tracks. There is also a 20,000 square foot park on the west side of the buildings, for use by the tenant.
